Kind of..on a smaller scale. I haven't one in front of me to be 100% (which is actually really annoying as I foolishly turned down a loan of one of my Aunties' as I've strained my back) but basically there's like little pads that stick onto your skin and settings...we have two one goes from 1-5 another from 1-10 and then it makes a kind of clicking noise and then sends little shocks in the area (some of them make a ping! noise as they do). The resident expert told me that they come with a booklet showing you how to place things safely generally just above and either-side of the affected area.
