Hello there. I'm looking for this House/Wilson fic my friend recommended me. She couldn't remember the title or author or anything that could help me find it through a simple google search, bless her. It was something about Wilson's brother showing up (possibly with cancer or something), longish, supposedly medically accurate, well-written and not that recent (I'm thinking 2006--2009). That's all the information I have. I know it's a long shot, but does it ring any bells? Other than that, if there are any House/Wilson fics out there with exceptionally good writing you guys can rec me, something in-character and not sappy/overly romantic (any rating is fine), I'd be very very grateful. Thanks in advance!

Two very long things:

My best suggestion for you is "The Open Road" (http://archiveofourown.org/works/126478?view_adult=true) by [livejournal.com profile] pun. It's long and it takes place away from the hospital largely. It's a road trip story. I find the writing very mature and it's a big favorite of mine.

If you like hurt comfort, the [livejournal.com profile] black_cigarette collective (A grouping of extremely good writers) has a fantastically long multi chapter fic called Aftershocks. There is a prequel called Bad Company, but it is very violent so I skipped it. Both can be found here: (http://black-cigarette.livejournal.com/)

Try those. If you want shorter things, there are tons of good stuff about. The more specific you are on requests the better people can respond. But look on this site for the tags to see what other people have enjoyed.

Also, here is a list of my own personal favorites with brief descriptions (http://barefootpuddles.livejournal.com/11873.html). I really should add some new fics to that list as I have discovered other gems since I wrote it. But it is a good start.
