Beta?

 I am searching for a beta desperatly! As you can see I can't spell. I shared a story here last week, or at least the begining of the story which was a responce to a request here on the reqs. Its only the first chapter but I have more done. I'm just missing a beta, someone to edit and help the story along. Someone experianced with Autism or mild MR would be a plus but you dont have to be.

I could help you with the spelling and grammar. As far as spelling goes, if you're using Microsoft Word, spellcheck can be your friend (or your enemy, depending on whether or not it recognizes your word). I read the first chapter...how does one "beta" it?

It needs to be gone over, edited, I know I have some tense confutions in there some where as well as general grammer problems. I use spell check but it doesnt get everything and it doesnt always pick up tense changes.

Should I copy and paste the chapter that's up into word and then email it to you? Would that work? I could explain some of the basic rules, although I know them more from experience than technical knowledge.

Also, it would be nice if anyone around here who has experiance with Autism or mild MR, as I said before, could help as well. I work in the feild but I am by no means all knowing and it would also be nice just to have someone else who knows about these things as well to bounce ideas off of and to get knew ideas from.

Grammar and spelling are all well and good but if the substance isnt there then what does it matter?

I have Asperger's Syndrome - which is basically High Functioning Autism - so I know a lot about that, but I'm not as well versed in regular autism and I know almost nothing about MR. Would that be enough?

OK then. I don't see anything about Autism in the first chapter. Do you mind telling me how you plan to introduce it? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to spoil everyone else ;-)
