I have searched high and low on Second Life, thinking that SURELY someone would, by now, have started an SL community for House, MD. But alas, I have found nothing...NOTHING!
Second Life is a massive, multi-user virtual world in which you can do anything you damn well please.... ANYTHING! This community is all adult, so anything goes. People have even adopted children.
Of course, for this community, everyone would want to be House, Wilson, Cuddy, or one of the Ducklings. I'd sure as hell choose to be one of the non-duckling folk. But there would be an infinite possible number of nurses, patients, and what-have-you. Can you imagine buying land, building a three-dimensional hospital with multiple rooms, offices...supply closets...heh... roads and homes of the people who work at the hospital... the possibilities are endless and mind-boggling.
Just wondered if anyone had given this any thought at all. If you're interested, you can get a freebie trial account. Actually, you don't really have to pay ever as far as i can tell, but you do get cool stuff if you pay them something for it.

Date: 2007-02-24 10:53 pm (UTC)I have no idea where to get started. Like, suppose I built House's apartment? I would want it to be my own universe, which would include an original character... Maybe not... Someone else would want their own universe. Then the hospital -- who would be in charge of that? or would anybody?
I'm not used to infinite options.

you can get a free account. You'll need to get an avatar. Then you have to go through the training they make you do (moving around and so forth). I guess you can get that done in 30 minutes or so. then you leave the help island forever, and go into the secondlife world. Oh, and you have to download software before you start. it's available freely from the website. In order to own land and build, you have to pay, but that could be figured out much later.
I think the first thing to do is get the free account, get your avatar, and get situated in the system.
If you let me know what time, I can meet you there after you do the help island bs. I'm permanently off that island, as i have completed the training.
