House as inventor

house_wilson_ghc_reqsHas anyone ever seen a fic where House invents something? I can easily see him needing some particular instrument to diagnose someone or a particular medicine to cure a disease, and it doesn't exist, so he invents it. But I don't recall ever seeing that in a fic, much less on the show. If anyone else has I'd love to read it. Thanks in advance!

Date: 2012-12-04 10:19 am (UTC)One step down of course, there's the wide field of House (and his team) finding creative solutions for unique problems, but that's what he does, isn't it? One of the more out there examples would be temporarily killing Andy, or doing exploratory surgery on a fetus, but there are plenty of others. It's more the idea/procedure and less the instrument/medicine that's the original invention.
PS: I do remember House inventing stirrups and poker in Nightdog's Annals ... maybe I'm forgetting some medical invention in there?
