Sorry, long-time lurker poking her head out from behind the Tags list...

There's a fic I read once and should've bookmarked; it's driving me crazy! I remember that someone kidnapped Wilson in a parking lot and set his car on fire so that everyone would think he was dead; he escaped somehow, and everyone thought he was homeless, and he hitchhiked back home.

As a side request, I'd like anything that's "friends to the end" between Wilson and House, like they have a special bond. I don't mind if it includes sex, but I usually skip over that part -- no offense, just a bit of a prude -- so it's good if that could be a minimal part of the story.

I wish I could help with that first one, especially given it's the sort of thing I like to read, but I haven't a clue.

For the second ... well, there are so many! I feel as if any story that shows them in-character fits that description, since that's the way they are on the show. I love pretty much anything by mer_duff, pwcorgigirl, jezziejay, sassyjumper, yarroway, menolly_au, I could go on at length.

Are there any particular things that ring your bells? Anything you've already found while lurking, loved, and want some similar stories?

Wow, what a wealth of stories; I'm familiar with some of the authors, but more than happy to dive into them all ^_^! You're awesome.

I admit that I have a special place in my heart for the Drawing Down The Moon series. I enjoy injured!Wilson stories in my macabre moments ^_~. Let's see... I enjoyed that one where Wilson marries House so that he doesn't have to testify at his trial. Darn it, why am I drawing a blank? Stuff by nightdog_barks are usually good...I prefer long stories, and ones where Wilson is protective of House or vice versa. It's fun when the ducklings are involved, isn't it? I like it when Wilson's exes or Cameron are mean about it all...

Those are just a few. I'll probably kick myself as soon as I post this for not remembering something... anyways, all, some, none -- just throwing them out there.

I think the marriage fic might have been A Modest Proposal, which I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit I haven't read. I'm not sure how that happened, exactly. Someone else could tell you who wrote it; I'm drawing a blank right now.

Perspi hasn't written in House fandom in a long time now, but she has a fic index on her journal, and I'd recommend starting with No Little Charity. All good, though. And deelaundry has an enormous fic index too, with summaries to help you figure out what you want to read. She writes a lot of slash but also has plenty of nice gen.

Oh, flywoman and verbal_kint10 didn't write in the fandom nearly long enough, IMO, but both are fantastic.

One fun thing to do, when you find someone whose stories you really enjoy, is check their memories and see what stories they've memmed. It's a great way to turn up gems that would otherwise be kind of lost.
